OUR VERDICT

The PlayStation Platinum Wireless Headset is a great-sounding, ultra-comfortable headset that can make some of the best-looking games sound even better.

Price and release date

Although the Sony PlayStation Platinum Wireless Headset is getting a bit longer now (released in 2017), it's still one of the best headsets compatible with the PlayStation 4.

When first released, this headset was expensive (159 / £ 129 / AU $ 259) but fell to $ 117 in the US and $ 114 in the UK. Unfortunately Australia has not been priced in the last few years, but Black Friday and Cyber Monday can get one of them.

Design

Platinum Wireless is an attractive combination of plastic, metal and rubber. The upper band has two metal bars, which increase the firmness and firmly fix the headset. There is a rubber band under the top band, covering the top of the noggin, everything else is plastic. The headphones are perfect when you need to fold them neatly and carry them, and the weight is not too heavy, but it's so light that it's fragile. If you are looking for the right number, the platinum headset weighs 318.2 g.

Finally, the ear pads themselves are made of comfortable, fine material and generate some heat after a little use, but no surprising friction. We found that you can wear headphones for about two hours before you breathe out.

Despite the debit, they are the most stylish styles far from headphones. The big-ear coup and the double-band bridge are made for the monster's head, not the regular head, giving it a sort of monster-like quality. In other words, if the headphones work on your mobile device, it's probably not a pair of cans that you can take to the gym or elsewhere, and your design won't care so much.

Combine metal, plastic and platters comfortably (if somewhat relaxed) into cans.

Performance

Sony's platinum headset is an amazingly balanced kit. The low end is powerful but doesn't care, it really shines at medium and high altitudes. Listening to movies and music is not the intended purpose of the headset, but in no case dangerous. Actually replacement headphones are great when you want to wear something while sitting on the sofa of this TV.

In fact, a dollar is a dollar and a pound is a pound, and headsets that offer more value for money are hard to think of. In general, this is probably one of the best sound gaming headsets on the market today.

Of course, there are many headsets that offer more accurate surround sound. This is the area where Platinum thinks it can be improved. The general idea of   a firearm's footsteps and direction is reasonable, but I've heard that Sony doesn't have the same precision as the PlayStation Platinum in other headsets.

If you restart the game using 3D surround sound instead of Simulated 7.1, Monitoring 4: The End of a Thief delivers sound effects better, increasing the presence of 3D audio and slightly changing points. Ability to create "100 virtual speakers".

The experience of a cinematic video played through Drake's latest adventure with platinum headphones can sound similar to what we found at the cinema. ural was obviously not as fun as using a traditional stereo .1.1 speaker setup, but the Platinum headset fell out of the Namty Dog game. I like to help others for realizing the level of detail of the development team.

But if you need to decide if you want to go back to stereo sound, just flip the switch over your right ear to go to the rear two-channel sound.

When it comes to microphone quality, the friends we talked about said sound quality was "above average" because they thought noise cancellation software was related to Sony Platinum. You can't completely remove the background noise (i.e. it doesn't remove the dog throwing sound), but it will help reduce the ambient noise known to pick up many other headsets.

You may need to mute the headset at any time to find a dry button bar along the outer rim of the left cup to increase or decrease the volume.

Battery life and connectivity

Sony does not quote the target number for the battery life of the headset, but if you need to predict it based on when it is used, it is probably close to 12 to 14 hours. We were able to play for 8 hours and hardly exceeded 2/3 by PS4.

Of course, if you're using a different audio level (say you want to hear it loud) and you're constantly chatting with your friends, the average user needs about 12 hours of plugin time. Before yo

One of the headset's main selling points is wireless accessibility, but if you decide to play on your mobile device or PlayStation VR, Sony has a standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable inside each box.

Inside, there's a micro USB cable, a wireless dongle, and a soft cloth pouch, and the basic audio cable lets you plug in a 3.5mm jack, draw audio, and use it as most cell phone headsets.

Final verdict

Sony's Platinum wireless headphones have a lot of opinion about this. According to the people we talked to about, this headset has excellent and balanced audio performance and "above average" 3D audio support that makes up to 100 virtual speakers, but it's actually this headset. This area does not have the same defeat found in competing fair cans.

That is to say, there are many parts in the design section that can sit much larger on the head, and even though the two metal alloy bars float on top, the plastic part of the headset is brittle.

But it's easier and overall better to get a good quality headset than everyone uses. These qualities certainly exist at higher prices, but if you're looking for something you can set without hassle, Platinum is your best friend.
