OUR VERDICT

A big screen, an almost everlasting battery, and solid specs make the Oppo A9 2020 Camera one of the best affordable phones for those who stream a lot of videos and a still great option for almost everyone else on a limited budget.

Design

  • Clad in plastic but looks good from a distance
  • Big and thick
  • Lacks water resistance
The Oppo A92020 can provide phones that cost more than arm's length. The back shows almost curved glass and has a light-responsive finish. The 'S' snake is colored just like the old Moto G mobile.

It is large and the screen is thin. If you double your phone bill to someone, you've probably trusted them.

After picking up the Oppo A92020, the illusion is noticeably off. The sides and back are plastic. You could tell that the glass in the back doesn't just look at it. Plastics distort the image in areas such as fingerprint scanners and camera housing. The pressure is slightly bent backward. Glass does not twist very easily.

The Oppo A92020 has a curved surface for comfort but it's not as luxurious as the Oppo, Renault 2, but even though the phone doubled in price, this year Motorola also replaced the rear plastic. Moto G8 Plus Glass.

The shape is another part of remembering. Oppo has built a budget powerhouse here, but the big screen and battery mean the A92020 may scare some users away. Even if the rear slightly deviates from the curvature edge, the thickness is 9.1 mm.

If you use an included silicone case, the use of plastic is not important and you should probably use it. However, the banded product is not as good as the one that came with the Reno 2Z and Reno 2.

Silicone plastic is solid, and if you don't pay attention to the composition details, the click of the power button is wasted. It made me feel refreshed and deleted the case, so I'll be able to discover something better online.

Thanks, Oppo didn't bother with the screen saver. Like other Oppo phones, plastic protectors are attached to the factory. This will prevent your phone from scratching in two days.

The Oppo A92020 is not as waterproof as almost all phones. Incidentally dipping in a little soy milk underneath the phone still works well, but it does prove that it does not explode in contact with the liquid.

Screen

  • 6.5-inch 720 x 1600 screen
  • The display could be sharper but this isn't too much of an issue
  • Color temperature is cold out of the box
The Oppo A92020 has a very large 6.5-inch screen. That's a lot larger than the Moto G8 Plus's 6.3-inch screen.

People who are looking for problems will find that this is not a full HD screen. 720 x 1600 pixel panel. The first limit we noticed was something else.

By default, the color temperature of the Oppo A92020 is very cool, resulting in low saturation of the color. The first thing we did was go to the display section of the settings menu and change the temperature to a 'warm' setting.

Not only is this a good match for high-end mobiles, but it also gives the screen a more enjoyable character.

Does the screen resolution matter? On screens larger than the iPhone 11, the pixel density is lower, with about 10% more pixels on each side. However, this results in some text smoothing without optical pixelation.

Thanks to Android's great resolution scaling, the panel has been scaled up enough to make the pixel structure completely invisible. Is it amazing that a small font can be read when zooming in a browser window?

Creating a few of these pixels in previous versions of Android made the text worse and harder but now it looks great.

Of course, I like a full HD screen but it does the Oppo Reno ZE. And definitively, it's better than a 720p + LCD than a 720p + LCD (you can see it).

OLED displays for phones use a penile subpixel array, where the pixel divides the subpixel. This is because in OELDs with the same resolution, the pixel density cannot be less precise (e.g., OLEDs have better contrast and color).

It's also important to understand what the Oppo A92020 can still do well. This 720p + screen is also suitable for YouTube streaming. Video footage still looks prominent at this resolution, and with a much larger canvas, you can enjoy watching your video more. We thought this screen didn't like it but it's actually pretty good.

Did you know that Netflix doesn't actually stream at 720p or higher resolution on most Android phones? Nonetheless, if the only sharp text is available, consider the Moto G8 Plus.

Battery life

  • Massive 5,000mAh battery
  • Lasts a long time but charges slowly
Battery life is one of the best reasons to buy the Oppo A92020, whose massive battery is 5000mAh and the Oppo keeps the phone is perfectly normal shape and size. Energizer is not a phone.

Many times we charge around 50% until midnight, and 60% over two days. 50% of the midnight fell in the mid-40s, but light users were able to maintain the Oppo A92020 for two days without apparent effort.

Even when it's time to kill a train through YouTube streaming or games, more users will love the phone they trust. The Oppo A92020 is one of these phones. Not so long ago, we reviewed the Google Pixel 4XL, which uses the much more expensive Google phone to maintain Oppo power even in larger variants.

It even performed well in our standard battery test good This test plays 90 minutes of video in full display brightness and tests the battery usage. The Oppo A92020 lost 13% when fully charged. This is very similar to the Moto G7 Power and loses 12%. The phone is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and lasts a long time while performing normal mobile tasks.

The only bad news is that the Oppo A92020 takes some time to charge. There is a standard voltage charger and it takes about 3 hours to charge fully.

The phone could theoretically offer Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0, which is supported by the Snapdragon 665 chipset  However when using Pixel 4's advanced charger, the speed did not increase significantly or the screen did not show a quick charge notification.

We are happy to use the USB-C port instead of the Opo Micro USB. Some cheaper phones still have the old standard and will soon be outdated in the 2019/2020 season.

Camera

  • Quad-lens rear camera with 48MP, 8MP, 2MP, and 2MP sensors
  • Great performance for the price, even at night

  • The 2MP sensors don't seem to do much
There are as many cameras as the four on the back of the Oppo A92020 and one in the front. The two cameras only have low-level hardware, 2MP sensors, but so few phones are easier to use.

The main camera has a 48MP sensor and an f / 1.8 lens. The second camera is an ultra-wide-angle camera with an 8MP sensor. Two Demanding 2MP sensors are used for depth and black and white photography.

Even with a low depth sensor, the 'portrait' background of the Oppo A92020 is obscurely quite above the cutout fidelity average.

However, there is a real problem with this 2MP camera. You can take both black and white photos and background blur on your phone if the extra sensor is blocked. And according to our tests, there seems to be no clear distinction as to whether the final image was blocked.

Will these two cameras greatly enhance the spec sheet here? Do they not do anything at all? The best guess is to capture some of the background opacity and macro shots a bit faster. Thankfully it interferes with potential strategies.

The Oppo A92020 also shoots the best low light images we've seen at a price. It uses the same multiple exposure technology as the more expensive model of Oppo. When you switch to Night mode, the phone cuts off at some point of view, so natural hand movements do not affect the edges of the shot.

Also, unlike the low light mode of many low-budget phones, detailed, dynamic range and overall image quality are greatly improved.

It's a feature that works. The low-light mode may be different from the type used on high-end mobile phones. But you have to use Night Mode manually.

The 'Auto' Night photograph has a smooth burnt appearance of the category standard, and each Night mode takes 7 seconds to capture a shot. Not fast: The Google Pixel 3XL XL has nothing to worry about here, so it's good to make the phone a lot more expensive.

What will happen to the daylight? Take great photos with the Oppo A92020. Again the best products are available at a price.

However, the processing of the phone is sometimes very dull and crude. The Oppo A92020 strives to improve the dynamic range of scenes in which many of the dark and light mesh looks strange when shooting on trees.

The HDR mode is effective but not always natural. Sometimes, even if there was no sky to serve as a reference, the color temperature of the image didn't even match. Some of the photos we take are a bit cool but they can be adjusted for editing. Or you can directly control the color temperature in manual mode.

We consistently took pictures of the Oppo A920 and the Oppo Reno Z and found quite noticeable differences in the processing details. Reno Z is no surprise. However, when it comes to pricing, there is very little to complain about.

Macro mode works automatically when you get closer to the subject. You can't maintain focus when you're near, but the rest of the image is out of focus, making the subject sharper and more important.

Before you buy, you need to know what quad-camera offers. For example, there is no real zoom camera. This app allows you to increase 2x and 5x, but due to the light processing weight, the result looks pretty dazzling, almost 5x with details that show the rotoscope.

The ultra-wide-angle is the only added field with a 119-degree lens. It's a bit more distortion at the edge of the field than some high-end phones, but it's a useful tool in the arsenal.

Video capture 4K is best at 30 frames per second. Effective software stability disappears above 1080p. These are simple price constraints. You can't even take video using an ultra-wide-angle lens. The Rival Moto G8 Plus uses this secondary camera to shoot more stable video but software stability is not as effective.

The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor. With the right lighting, you can create a great selfie full of details. But in the real-world environment, this is the best remote.

Software

  • Runs Android 9 overlaid with ColorOS 6
  • The interface takes some getting used to but is generally good
The Oppo A92020 runs the Android 9 and Oppo's ColorOS 6 interfaces. Switching to ColorOS may be a problem at first because you first need to use the Square app icon which makes it look stronger than the standard Google UI or Samsung.

Anyway, thanks to Oppo Reno 2 and Reno 2Z, I've spent a lot of time on the interface over the past few months. In this particular edition, Oppo made a sensible decision.

The Oppo A92020 uses five rows of app icons rather than the usual four in the app's drawer. It helps you wrap the shortcut on every screen and make it look like a festive phone rather than your main budget. You can do the same on the home screen. Push icon grids up to 5x6 in settings for a more robust user experience.

The other part seems foolish as a result of the intelligent use of such places. The dock on the home screen uses a lot of space. It seemed silly at first, but after adjusting the format for more icons, the application library didn't seem to be waiting for the conference room.

ColorOS 6.0 is stable and add-ons are fairly traditional, so they don't get out too much. There is a mode that starts when you play the game and it is designed to optimize performance and remove obstacles. The Smart Assistant home page is on the left side of the main site but can be ignored if desired. I have used it a few times to test my steps.

There is also a shortcut bar that you can access by swiping from the side of the screen. Again, this is not particularly effective but you can ignore or disable it if you want.
